Sending an eFax

In order to send eFAXs you must first have eFAX set up. You can request eFAX to be set up for your department by contacting the HelpDesk at extension x4357 or email helpdesk@clarkson.edu.

Once you have eFAX set up you will create a fax via Gmail just like you were sending a new email. Create a new email and use the directions below to format the To: field properly.

1. Send a fax to someone on campus.

/name=John Smith/fax=1234/ <fax@clarkson.edu>

Replace 'John Smith' with the person you would like to send it to. This can be anything you would like (ex: Jane, Jane Doe, J Doe, JD) and can contain a space. The '1234' should be replaced with the 4-digit on-campus extension of the person you are sending the fax to.

2. Sending a fax to someone off campus with a local or long-distance number.

/name=Jon Smith/fax=15184831234/ <fax@clarkson.edu>

Replace 'John Smith' with the person you would like to send to. This can be anything you would like (ex: Jane, Jane Doe, J Doe, JD) and can contain a space. The '15184831234' should be replaced with a 1+10-digit destination number.
