Solidworks

Availability of SolidWorks CAD package for Clarkson Engineering students.

This is for returning and new MAE students at Clarkson University who require access to the SolidWorks CAD program package. Although there are quite a few license seats, I request that you not install this package until the semester that you expect to use it.

The 2020/2021 version of SolidWorks is currently installed in CAMP 172 and is also available for download by students for use on their computers. It will remain valid for one year, at which time continuing students may renew and update SW. It seems to work well on PC’s running Windows 10, but students using Mac’s have encountered some difficulty, particularly when they do not partition their hard drives.

Conditions – By accepting this offer, students agree that:

  1. They are currently enrolled as a student.
  2. They will not share this installation key with others.
  3. They will only use this software for course-related work (e.g. not for profit).

The instructions and installation code (key) are provided on the following page. Only one key code is needed; I believe that if you select the first choice, most or all of the related features will be included with the installation. If you have difficulty, try again or speak with a fellow student.

You should install the most recent version (2022/2022); that is the only version compatible with the version used in Clarkson’s computing labs. This is a large package with strong capabilities and it is considered an industry standard.

SOLIDWORKS Installation Instructions

Conditions for use: To be used only by Clarkson students and instructors. To be used only in support of academic course work. Do not share this installation code with others. If this is agreeable to you, please proceed.

(Previously, SW has not installed easily on Apple/Mac’s without repartitioning the hard drive; I do not have instructions for successfully installing this on a MAC; MAC users are on their own.)

Enter your

* First Name
* Last Name
* Email (Your "@clarkson.edu" address)
* Select Student under the "Select one of the following (optional)" drop down menu.
* Under Product Information, select "I already have a Serial Number that starts with 9020
* Under Academic Version select 2023 (SP2.1)

Click on Request Download

On the next screen click on Download



**Run the SolidWorksSetup.exe file that was downloaded.
**Note that you may need Administrator rights to complete the installation.

Follow the on-screen instructions.

YOU MUST REGISTER & ACTIVATE WITH YOUR clarkson.edu EMAIL ADDRESS!

  • There is one SolidWorks 2023 serial number:

    • 9020005711925147WNG5C7K9

  • Please load 2022/23(latest) version and other complementary packages will automatically be included

  • This license will be good for one year
