How to downloading and installing ArcGIS

  1. Visit: http://www.esri.com/landing-pages/software/arcgis/arcgis-desktop-student-trial

  2. Create an ESRI account if you do not have one already

  3. Paste your Authorization Number into the box and Hit Activate ArcGIS.  If you need an authorization number, contact Bill Olsen at [wbolsen@clarkson.edu

  4. Choose the ArcGIS Pro 2.4 ArcGIS 10.7.1 option

    Choose ArcGIS for Desktop (Arcmap) from the list:

  5. The installer package should download to your computer.  When finished, open it up and install the program to the default destination (recommended) or one of your choosing.

  6. If you choose, you can automatically launch the setup after the files have been extracted.

  7. When prompted, select ArcGIS for Desktop Advanced Single Use.

  8. When prompted, accept the default, I do not wish to authorize any extensions at this time. The extensions will be authorized automatically.

  9. ESRI will send instructions to you via email as well.

  10. If for some reason, the authorization dialog does not launch or you just need to renew an existing installation, you can run ArcGIS Administrator from the Start Menu.  Start > ArcGIS >ArcGIS Administrator

  11. Choose the Desktop Folder

  12. Choose Advanced (ArcInfo) Single Use and click Authorize Now.  Follow the prompts and keep the default settings for extensions.

  1. If you are using a Clarkson networked computer and are connected via Ethernet or VPN, you can use the license manager: 27006@lic-esri.ad.clarkson.edu
