Copy Course Content with Sharing Cart Block

The Sharing Cart is a block for duplicating course items into a personal library and an easy way to move those Moodle resources and activities between multiple courses on your site. With just three clicks, the Sharing Cart copies and moves a single course item from one course to another.

Step-by-step guide

To copy a Moodle item or resource to another course using the Sharing Cart tool.

Turn Editing On:  

You should see the Sharing Cart block on the right hand side of your course.  If not, add the Sharing Cart block to your course: Select Sharing Cart from the dropdown list in Add a block: 

The Sharing Cart icon will appear next to items that can be selected to add to the sharing cart.  Click on the icon to select a section or activity.

The Sharing Cart block will change to indicate the section/item  you have copied into the sharing cart:

If you click on the folder icon within the block, it will show the copied item and allow you to move the copied item into a folder, delete the item from the sharing cart, or to move the item into a course.

Move to the course you want to insert the item in your Sharing Cart to, click .

Add the Sharing Cart block to the course if it is not already in the course.

In the Sharing Cart block, click the Copy to Course button next to the item you want to insert. 

At the top of the course you will see an indication of what is ready to be inserted into the course.  

Scroll down to the section where you want the item inserted and click on the down arrow to insert the item from the Sharing Cart. 

Your item will be inserted, it can now be moved or edited if necessary.
