Setting Moodle Notification Preferences

Summary

In Moodle, notification preferences allow users to indicate whether they receive email when certain events happen in Moodle courses they are enrolled in. For example, one might receive notifications for forums posts, assignment notifications, messages, and many more. From Preferences, users can globally elect to receive email whether they are logged in to Moodle or not. The default is to receive notifications for all events in both cases.

  • Choose which notifications you would like to receive from Moodle activities 

How to set up Notification Preferences 

  1. Click on the profile icon in the top right corner of the Moodle page. This will be a circle with your initials in it or your profile image.
  2. Use the drop-down to select Preferences.

3. On the left hand side of the page under User account, you click on Notification preferences

4. Choose desired options by clicking on the On/Off buttons for each of the notification events listed.
