Moodle: Change Weights in Gradebook

Summary

Change weights in Moodle's gradebook to make specific assignments or categories more or less important for a student's final grade, without changing the raw point values. This allows for flexible grading schemes, such as making a final exam worth 50% of the grade, even if it has the same number of points as a smaller assignment.  Weights must match the grading strategy outlined in the course syllabus, ensuring the final grade accurately reflects the instructor's intended weight for different types of work.

The guide will show you how to:
  • Change weights in the Gradebook, start by clicking on Grades on your Moodle Homepage.
