FERPA for Teaching Assistants (TAs) and Student Employees

All TAs and Student Employees must complete Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA) compliance training prior to gaining any additional access to systems containing student or course information (myCU, Moodle, etc.).  The FERPA training course is available at any time in Moodle. 

To self-enroll in the training course, log into Moodle and click the blue button in the lower center of the screen to complete FERPA Bootcamp for Students course

There are three steps to completing the training: 

Step 1: Read all about FERPA basics, and demonstrate comprehension by completing the quiz in this section.

Step 2: Watch a brief video explaining how FERPA impacts student employees.

Step 3: Read and complete the Student Information System Confidentiality Agreement to complete your training.
