Managing START@CU Flags
As an academic advisor, you are notified whenever one of your advisees has flags raised about their academic performance. This information is shared with you as it will likely be helpful in the academic advising process. You may wish to work with your advisees who have poor academic performance in the 5- and 10-week progress surveys to help them improve their performance.
Viewing Students with Open Flags
In this system, you will be able to view academically-related flags that have been raised on students associated with you. Students who are associated with you include your advisees and students in courses that you are teaching. To view students with open flags, do the following:
-
Login to PeopleSoft Campus Solutions.
-
Navigate to Main Menu > Self Service > START@CU > START@CU Dashboard
-
You will have access to view any of your students' academically related flags. Clicking on "Open Flags" will show all of the flags for a specific student.
Note
Please note that students are automatically sorted by "Risk Score". The Risk Score is calculated using a formula that takes into account the severity of each flag raised.

If you have taken some action related to the flag that was raised, you can resolve the flag by clicking "resolve", adding some notes about the action that you took and then clicking "Save and Exit".
Recording information about the actions you take related to each flag will help to generate a holistic view each students' academic progress.
