Policy
An RA is an academic appointment focused on thesis or other degree-related research. Generally faculty recruit RAs to focus on thesis or dissertation research connected to an internally or externally funded project/grant. RAs do not have teaching responsibilities.
Students on an RA receive the following:
- Full or partial tuition and/or
- Full or partial stipend
The RA appointment permits the student to concentrate on their research during the period of appointment. RA duties may not exceed forty hours of service per week, inclusive of classroom work and research duties.
