1b. Managing Tutors - Adding/Updating/Approving Bio

Goal

This shows how you would approve a tutors bio after they submitted for the first time, or edited it. Note: Administratively, you can also set the Bio on the students behalf by following the same steps to approve, but you type the bio in yourself. 

Steps

Find tutors that need their bio approved, filtering on your tutoring administration portal. 

  1. Go to your Tutoring Administration portal (https://advising.clarkson.edu/portal/tutor_admin?tab=tutor-requests) and clicking on the Tutoring Request tab.
  2. Scroll to the Tutors Section
  3. Enter "Pending Approval" in the search bar of the tutors section
  4. Click the tutors name which takes them to their tutoring tab on their record.

  1. On the tutoring tab, you will see if the Bio is approved or not
  2. You can see what they typed in for the bio
  3. Click the "Edit" icon in the top right, or scroll to the bottom of the screen and hit the "Edit" button

  1. Change the "Bio Approved" to "Yes"
  2. You can do any edits to the bio inside the "Tutor Bio" box
  3. Click the "Save" icon in the top right -or-
  4. Click the "Save" button at the bottom of the screen

Automatic Notifications

There are no automatic notification as part of this process. 

Automation Notes

When approving the bio, the following things will update automatically.

  1. The bio will now appear on the Meet the Tutors page (https://advising.clarkson.edu/portal/tutoring?tab=tutor-meet) on the tutoring portal.

  2. In the Tutor section of the Tutoring Administration portal, the status will change to "Approved"
