The 3 C's (Checklists, Comments, Communications)

THE FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS ARE INTENDED AS JOB-AIDS FOR THOSE ALREADY FAMILIAR WITH THE 3C'S. THIS SHOULD NOT BE CONSIDERED COMPREHENSIVE TRAINING MATERIALS OR A STEP-BY-STEP GUIDE.

Checklists

Mass Update by File

Step 1: Define your event

Main Menu > Campus Community > 3C Engine > Set Up 3C Engine > Event Definition

  • Add a new value
  • Create an Event ID (follow your department's naming convention!!!)
  • Add a description
  • Decide which administrative function you need to use
  • Add your event details
    • Attach speed keys here, if needed
  • Enter the Checklist item code
    • Update the responsible ID, if needed
    • Update the item status, if needed, checking the "update status" box when appropriate

Step 2: Update the Group

Main Menu > Campus Community > 3C Engine > Set Up 3C Engine > Event 3C Groups

  • All the appropriate group to your event

Step 3: Run the 3C Engine

Main Menu > Campus Community > Checklists > Run 3C Engine

  • Enter your run control ID
  • Choose Population Selection
  • Enter CLKSN and the administrative function you chose in Step 1.
  • Enter the Event ID you defined in Step 1
    • You will see the next block populate with the details of the Event ID for verification purposes. 
  • Under Population Selection, choose "external file"
  • Upload your file
  • Create or select a File Map
  • Review the Manage Duplicate Assignment tab (check or uncheck boxes, to tell the system how to handle duplicates)
  • Click "run" and "OK" to run the 3C enginer and assign/update the checklists
