Moodle Course Access

Summary

This article describes the length of time courses are stored on Moodle. 

Course Access

Moodle course access can be available for Faculty:up to 48 months from the time the course opens. 

Students:

How long you can see your courses?

    Once a course opens in Moodle, you can usually see the course and its materials for up to 48 months (4 years).

    What this means for you?

      We will do our best to keep your courses available. But we cannot promise that all course materials, activities, or your own submissions will always be there after the course ends.

      Why a course might go away sooner?

        Sometimes a course or parts of a course may be turned off or removed before the 48 months are up. This can happen when:
            The teacher or administrator decides to turn off the whole course or certain activities.
            Files or videos stop working because of contract terms, software changes or other technical reasons. ex) Moodle version updates may result in issues like quiz questions and others to stop working.  Support for materials or tools used in a course past the term end date is not provided.

            Upon departing Clarkson, Moodle course access will terminate according to Clarkson's Account Deactivation Policy.

            A Moodle course has a life cycle that is 48 months after the course opens. At the end of 48 months, courses are purged from Moodle and permanently deleted. Course content can not be retrieved after this time.
