Course Availability:

Moodle courses in a given term are no longer available to students starting 14 days after final grades are posted at the end of the term.

Example:

Fall semester -

  • December 18: Final grades available.
  • January 1: Courses no longer available. 

 

Course Storage:

OIT will only keepmaintains the lastprevious 5 full semesters of courses in Moodle. Anything older thatthan 5 semesters or 2.5 years willis purged from Moodle and permanently deleted.  Courses content can not be removedretrieved. from

Moodle.

Instructors Wecan suggestcreate that youa back up your course before the endcopy of the Moodle Course Life Cycle if you plan to use the course content infor thelonger future.term storage.

can

hide

 courses from a faculty member, we can only delete them. I****t is recommended that faculty perform and store their own backup of a course before requesting that it be removed from Moodle. Once you are certain that you no longer need your course, just email the HelpDesk with the full course number, section and semester to request that it be deleted.

Usually a two weeks after a semester has ended we will "hide" all the courses from students.
