Create a URL/Link

There are several ways to create a URL/linkhyperlink thatto studentsa canwebsite clickor fromcourse material in Moodle. The process is slightly different when you choose to use the homepageURL oftool youravailable course:in the Add an activity or resource

To add a URL

1. Click toTurn Turn editing on in the course.  if it isn't already.
   
   
   
2. InScroll to the topicbottom areaof the topic/section where you would like to add the page,URL.
   
   

clickClick on Add an activity or resource towards the bottom right corner.

1. Select URL from the listwindow onof theoptions.
   left

    then

   click

   

   Add.
   

Enter a Name for the URL. ThisImportant: the title should be the destination of the URL, notNOT the URL itself.

For example:

Correct: Google Maps
Incorrect: https://www.google.com/maps

Enter the URL (example: https://www.google.com/maps) in the External URL box.

Expand the Appearance section and setchange the Display dropdowndrop down from Automatic to New window (if available).
 or Pop up.


 Click Save and return to course. 

Check that the link works correctly.
