The Office of Information Technology (OIT) has a centralized computer purchasing program. This program is designed to maximize the financial resources of the university by ensuring computers purchased meet environmental and efficiency standards, are appropriately sized and equipped for the type of work being performed, and are standardized for efficient support. We have worked with HP, Dell, and Apple to secure access to state-contract pricing on desktops, tablets PCs, laptops, and portable devices for institutional use. Additionally, this program will ensure all computers meet Energy Star and EPEAT standards for efficiency and environmental responsibility.TheAll orderingcomputer processpurchases isusing asUniversity follows:funds must be made from this standardized listing. Exceptions for research and other specialized needs are managed on a cases by cases basis, and subject to approval by OIT. We will assist to find an appropriate solution.

We also recognize that in a small percentage of cases, some may have specific needs that the standard PC or Laptop may not address. We will be glad to work with you in these unique cases to find an appropriate solution. We try to keep a small inventory of the standard units on hand to expedite deployment. Any computers that need to be ordered will have aanticipate 3 to 4-4 week lead time for delivery. Standard units are often available in less time.

How to order through this program
To order, simply place a request through the university Helpdesk via email to helpdesk@clarkson.edu or x4357. The IT HelpDesk and the Satellite Support Reps will help to assess your needs and give you options and pricing. Please note that prices and availability are subject to change.
