The Office of Information Technology (OIT) has a centralized computer purchasing program.

This responsibility.

All computer purchases using University funds must be made from this standardized listing. Exceptions for research and other specialized needs are managed on a case-by-case basis and are subject to approval by OIT. We will assist to find an appropriate solution. 

How To Order:Order Your Computer:

Please anticipate 3 to 4 week lead time for delivery. Standard units are commonly available in less time. 

To order, place a request through the OIT Helpdesk via email to helpdesk@clarkson.edu or x4357.  OIT Helpdesksupport and the Satellite Support Staffstaff will help to assess your needs and give you options and pricing.  Please note that prices and availability are subject to change.

Your request should include:  

• The desiredDesired technical specifications for your new device (OIT staff can assist);
• Account/budget code for the cost of the purchase; andpurchase
• Approval from your Department Head.Head

Exceptions:  in the event that OIT is unable to source a suitable device in a timely manner, sourcing through a third-party retailer (Amazon). mayPurchases bemade anoutside option,this subjectprogram torequire approval.prior approval by the VP for Information Technology.  You must not make a computer purchase without prior approval from OIT.approval.

• • More favorable pricing alone is not reason enough to purchase through third-party retailers
  • Third-party vendor ordering will require VP for Information Technology approval
