The PCOffice &of LaptopInformation PurchaseTechnology Program(OIT) provides a centralized purchasing program to help you acquire reliable, university-supported technology. This guide explains the program policies and lists available devices.

Who this Applies To

This program covers all faculty and staff purchasing technology with Clarkson University funds, including research grants.

    Order:

    AllEmail computer purchases using University funds must be made from this standardized listing. Exceptions for research and other specialized needs are managed on a case-by-case basis and are subject to approval by OIT. We will assist to find an appropriate solution. 

    How To Order Your Computer:

    Please anticipate 3 to 4 week lead time for delivery. Standard units are commonly available in less time. 

    To order, place ayour request through the OIT Helpdesk via email toto: helpdesk@clarkson.edu or x4357.  OIT support staff will help to assess your needs and give you options and pricing.  Please note that prices and availability are subject to change.

    • Account/budgetBudget/account code for the cost of the purchasepayment
    • Approval from your Department Head

    Timeline: Allow 3–4 weeks for delivery once your order is finalized.

    Exceptions:  in the event thatIf OIT is unable tocannot source a suitable device in a timely manner, sourcing through atime, third-party retailerpurchases (e.g., Amazon). Purchasesmay madebe outsidepermitted. thisNote: programLower requireprices alone do not qualify as an exception.

     ⚠️ **Important:** Do not purchase technology without prior approval byfrom the VP for Information Technology.  You must not make a computer purchase without prior approval.
