Clarkson VPN Connection Instructions

Clarkson VPN Installation

To access some Clarkson IT resources while not on the Clarkson wired or eduroam wireless networks, you will need to install and loginconnect to the Clarkson VPN.

InstallingIf you have not already installed the Clarkson VPN client on your device, please see https://bookstack.clarkson.edu/books/general-knowledge-base/page/clarkson-vpn-installation-instructions before proceeding.

Connecting on Windows 10 or 11

You can connect to the Clarkson VPN either before logging into your laptop or after.  If this is your first time logging into your laptop, you must connect before logging in.

Connect before Login

1. DownloadPress CTRL-ALT-DEL to bring up the FortinetWindows Clientlogin from here: https://getvpn.clarkson.edu/FortiClientSetup_7.2.4_x64.exescreen
2. CopySelect "Login a different way"

Click the clientFortiClient installerIcon Enter your username and password as usual Respond to c:\tempthe Duo prompt on your device RunWhen your Windows login has completed, you will also be connected to the installerClarkson andVPN. acceptYou defaultscan forconfirm allby installationhovering optionsover the FortiClient icon in the taskbar

Connect After

Right-click the FortiClient icon in your taskbar Select "Connect to VPN" Select the "Clarkson VPN" profile Your default browser will open or open a new tab. If you do not already have a CAS login session, you will be prompted to login Once your login is complete, the FortiClient will complete your connection, then minimize itself. You can confirm you are connected by hovering over the FortiClient icon in the taskbar

Connecting on MacOS

1. Download the Fortinet Client from here: https://getvpn.clarkson.edu/FortiClient_7.2.4.dmg

Connecting on iOS and Android Devices

1. InstallLaunch the FortiClient fromapp and tap the "VPN" tab at the bottom
   

Confirm your device's"Connections" Appindicates Store"Clarkson -VPN". noteIf thatit does not, please see https://bookstack.clarkson.edu/books/general-knowledge-base/page/clarkson-vpn-installation-instructions before proceeding Tap the switch on "VPN"

You will be switched to a browser to login with your usual Clarkson login After completing the login process, you shouldwill notbe installreturned to the FortiClient VPN.app and should see you are connected
OnceTo installed,disconnect, launchtap the FortiClientVPN app.switch  When prompted, permit notifications, accept the privacy policy and tap "Next"again to bypassturn the login screen. When prompted, allow FortiClient to add VPN configurations Tap "Connect to EMS IP" Tap Scan QR Code, allow FortiClient to access your device's camera and use this QR Code:

FortiClient should indicate it was connected successfully and receive its configuration:
