VPAA Tasks for Endowed Chair or Professorship Review

The VPAA will review all materials submitted by the candidate, direct supervisor, and promotion committee and compose a letter to the candidate explaining the re-appointment decision.  When complete the letter is uploaded to the case.

If the decision is to re-appoint, the Human Resources Office will prepare the renewal contract effective July 1st of the next academic year and include legal-counsel approved language reflecting University spending guidelines and performance expectations.  This contract will be reviewed by the incumbent's supervisor for accuracy followed by their signature, delivery, and execution.

If the decision is to discontinue the endowed appointment, the Academic Affairs Office will evaluate the available monetary support of the vacated endowed appointment in consultation with the VP of Finance and direct the appropriate time to search for the next incumbent.
