Feature: Advising Notes - Private

Goal

Private notes serve a business need for specific departments that may need to share internal information that does not need to be shared widely to all users.

Steps

  1. After following steps 1-8 of [Adding an Advising Note] and selecting "yes" to private note, select the department(s) the private note should be visible to
    • clicking on the "here" link will show you a list of all users in each of these departments
  2. Enter the public note text
    • this will be visible by all users
    • it can be as simple as "Met with the [Department Name] department."priv_advising1.png
  3. Enter the private note information 

    • Information entered here will only be seen by those that have access to the departments you picked above as well as the Dean of Students and Slate for Current Students administrators.

  4. Click submit. You will be taken to a list of all of the notes for the student.priv_advising2.png

Automatic Notifications

There are no automatic notification as part of this process.

Automation Notes

Are there automations happening in the system when something from this feature is submitted or updated? This might need to be updated by the Slate Developer for the feature.
