Echo360: Updating Links to Recordings

For users who need to update a link to a recording in a Moodle Course (or web page) from Echo360, log into your course page, enable editing mode, and use the Echo360 activity tool or the URL resource settings to swap out the link. Choose your desired method(s) below.

Step-by-step guide

Quick Update
  1. Log in to Echo360, go to your Library, locate desired matching recording.
  2. Click into the recording, click Sharing tab, click Public Link (URL will be copied to your clipboard)
  3. Go to Moodle course, turn on editing, locate reference to desired recording, click edit settings and update with new URL.
  4. Save changes.

Method 1: Using the Dedicated Echo360 Activity Link

  1. Navigate to your Moodle course page.
  2. Turn on editing by clicking Edit mode in the top right.
  3. Locate the existing Echo360 activity or lecture link.
  4. Click the three dots (options) next to it and select Edit settings.
  5. Click the Launch External Tool or Echo360 integration button.
  6. Select your new recording from your Echo360 library list.
  7. Click Link Content and save your changes.

Method 2: Updating a Standard Web URL Link

  1. Turn on Edit mode in the top right of your Moodle course.
  2. Find the link resource you want to change.
  3. Click the three dots next to the item and choose Edit settings.
  4. Paste your new Echo360 shared URL into the External URL field.
  5. Scroll to the bottom and click Save and return to course. 

Method 3: Updating a Link Embedded in Text

  1. Turn on Edit mode on your course page.
  2. Select Edit settings on the Label, Page, or Book where the link sits.
  3. Highlight the old text link in the Moodle text editor.
  4. Click the Link icon (chain link) in the editor toolbar.
  5. Paste the new Echo360 URL over the old one.
  6. Click Update link and save your text area.
